Victorian Inter-Schools Environment Network (VISEN)
VISEN is a fantastic initiative that seeks to act as a bridge between schools and environmental groups and in doing so help Victorian schools and their students refine and achieve their specific environmental goals.
Australian Student Environment Network
The Australian Student Environment Network is a national network of students active on environmental issues. Students use the network to organise local campaigns, share information and resources, and to embark on national campaigns such as climate change and no nuclear.
The Australian Climate Change Education Network (ASCENT)
Climate change is a serious threat to life as we know it. And ASCENT want to do something about it. They provide practical ways for everybody to get involved in the fight against climate change through through running awareness and action programs in schools and universities as well as participating in community events and activities. They also have lots of info on the facts and stats of climate change.
Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC)
Like ASCENT, the AYCC wants to doing something positive about the climate crisis. Their mission is to build a generation-wide movement to solve the climate crisis by educating, empowering and mobilising young Australians to take action on climate change.
Garnaut Climate Change Review Final Report
On the 30th September 2008, Professor Garnaut released his Final Report on the impacts of climate change to the Australian economy, providing recommendations on the policy options for Australia to most effectively respond to climate change. Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) -Victorian Government
This Victorian Government agency is responsible for managing our states’ natural environments. On this site you will find information on issues such as water resources and catchments, climate change, bushfires, parks and other public land, forests, and biodiversity and ecosystem conservation. The site has loads of reports, facts and stats, as well as what the Government is doing to protect our natural environment. They talk big. How do they act?
Environmental Protection Authority - Victoria
The Environment Protection Authority is responsible for monitoring and protecting our natural environment through policy and legislation. They look after issues such as air and water quality, noise pollution, waste management, businesses and industries, and environmental reporting.
Bureau of Meteorology
The Bureau of Meteorology provides us with weather, climate and hydrological services for the whole of Australia. This site has heaps of resources on historical and current climate and weather patterns around Australia.
Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts - Australian Government
The Commonwealth Government department develops and implements national policy, programs and legislation to protect and conserve Australia's environment, and has plenty of information on the atmosphere, biodiversity, parks and reserves, human settlements, coasts and oceans, and freshwater.
Commonwealth Industrial and Scientific Research Organisation (CSIRO)
The CSIRO is Australia's national science agency and one of the largest and most diverse research agencies in the world. These are the smart people. Their areas of research (and areas which they have loads of resources and information about include) astronomy and space, energy, environment, farming and food, health and wellbeing, information and communication technology, manufacturing, materials, mining and minerals, and transport and infrastructure.
Department of Climate Change - Australian Government
The Commonwealth Government department for addressing climate change has all sorts of information about climate change in Australia, including its impacts, government priorities and actions, including carbon monitoring, accounting and reduction programs.
The Australian Heritage Council
The Australian Heritage Council is the principal adviser to the Australian Government on heritage matters, including sites of natural heritage. The Council assesses and helps to manage sites on the National Heritage List, the Commonwealth Heritage List and the List of Overseas Places of Historic Significance to Australia.
Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry - Australian Government
This Commonwealth Government departments’ role is to develop and implement policies and programs around Australia's agricultural, fisheries, food and forestry industries.

The ACF is a non-governmental organization dedicated to achieving a healthy environment in Australia. They have a strong focus on community education and their website is full of fantastic resources and information on all sorts of environmental topics relevant to Australians.
Greenpeace Australia Pacific
Greenpeace is an international non-governmental organization that campaigns for protection of our environment around the world. Greenpeace Australia pacific has great resources about environmental issues for Australians and for our neighbours in the Pacific.
The Wilderness Society
The Wilderness Society is a non-governmental, community-based organization that works to protect and campaign for the protection of our environment in Australia. A great site for information about environmental issues in your area.
Environment Business Australia (EBA)
EBA is an organization that explores and promotes commercial solutions to environmental challenges. They have some great reports that discuss issues like climate change from a business perspective.
Mission H20
This is a great game is actually made up of eight little games that shows how you can save water around the house. The rest of the website – savewater.com.au – has excellent information on water issues around Australia.
