Some good news from the “back to the tap” movement
Looks like bottled water is slowly on the decline. Green concerns and the global recession are putting people off the bottle. For example, in New York the city council recently banned bottled water in favour of the old fashioned tap option. Not only are they banning the bottle, they’re also switching from spring water to tap water in the council’s water coolers.
As a result of actions like these, the bottled water industry is only expected to grow by less than 1% a year for the next five years. This is a massive drop from the double-digit rates seen in the early 2000’s. Bring back the tap!
