Linda has already had her impact felt being featured in the Melbourne Weekly magazine, singled out for her stance on sustainability and her vision for the future of the fashion industry. Linda has a background in Advertising but sought a new direction in her aim for more altruistic endeavors. Linda is currently studying Applied Fashion Design and Technology at RMIT. Linda envisions that through creating Lydra, she will be able to better educate and create awareness about the relevance of sustainable living. Linda Vydra is a name to follow in what will undoubtedly be an exciting future.

Josh O’Meara in collaboration with Lydra has created the timber clutch range. Josh views design as a powerful tool in shaping a better future and is critical of designers who fail to acknowledge it as a force both positive and negative, focusing exclusively on aesthetics. Josh also runs his own project with two friends, 1egg1world to raise a $1million dollars for various charities through uptrading.

Mission

We are consumers of the earth and by carefully choosing the products that we purchase we can take a step towards looking after and preserving our environment in which we live and rely.

Lydra’s philosophy follows Newton’s law on physics, that; "weight over time equals force." If enough effort is applied, by enough people, for enough time, success is inevitable.

The mission of Lydra is to:

· Reduce the amount of wastage that is going to landfill and therefore simultaneously eliminating the energy and land needed to make virgin materials done through clever adaptive re-use of materials. Redirected from landfill to up-cycling, products such as clutches, wallets, coin purses and other useful accessories are born. Waste is the bio-product of no imagination.

· To educate consumers about the importance of fashion and sustainability working as a collective.

· Creating handcrafted products that are produced locally and offer an individual product to each customer that represents their personality.
