Go back in time with sea levels

We hear a lot of talk about sea levels rising because of climate change. We hear that it's pretty serious and that we should be doing everything we can to stop climate change. But then we hear that our climate has always been changing and our sea levels have also always been changing.

The SahulTime project lets you see just how sea levels have changed in Australia over thousands and thousands of years. It is an ongoing project to create a visual, interactive representation of the Earth's history.

Imagine we could go back in time and view the ancient Earth from space... What would we see?

And why would we want to go back and time and see where we have been? Well, to understand where we are going it is important to understand where we have been.

Click here to visit SahulTime and discover how our coastline has changed over the past 100 thousand years.
