Shout Out for Climate Change
The Shout Out for Climate Change competition run by the Australian Government Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency offers young Australians the opportunity to share their thoughts and views on climate change.
If you are an aspiring film director, actor, advertising executive or just have a creative flair and care about the future of our planet, we are counting on you to shout out for climate change in the 2010 school and university competition.
Australian primary, secondary and tertiary students living and studying in Australia are eligible to enter the Shout Out for Climate change competition.
Through this competition you will have the opportunity to ‘shout out’ your ideas about combating climate change – and we will help you share them with Australia.
To enter the Shout Out for Climate Change competition:
Primary students need to submit an original artistic piece like a song, poem, photograph or piece of artwork that raises awareness about climate change.
Secondary and Tertiary students need to upload an original advertisement in video format that is up to 60 seconds in length and encourages, inspires and equips Australians to take action on climate change. In addition, Tertiary students must submit a media plan and a promotion plan outlining specific media outlets you would use to promote your ad and explaining how you would get maximum national exposure for your advertisement.
There are fantastic prizes for winning students and schools and to assist Australian teachers in educating primary and secondary students about climate change, we have developed a suite of resources including lesson and classroom activity ideas, a classroom information poster and resource links.
